I don’t know what holiday it was yesterday in Japan (on a Monday) but everyone and their dogs were off from school and work and the park was filled with craft fair vendors, people and dogs. The craft fair was pretty impressive. There were so many things there that I wanted to actually buy… It wasn’t like the craft fairs in the US where they sold pieces of crumpled up paper and called it craft… these were real crafted arts. The nose! the googly eyes! I have no idea what they are but these are absolutely adorable!
ひきだしくん (Hikidashi kun; drawer guy) was so silly I asked the guy what it was. He simply goes… “何かな〜んも考えないで作ったからわかりません” (“I made these without thinking so I don’t really know what they are”) Then the sign here tells you what you can fit into these drawers… The first two says that you can put stamps… and then toothpicks inside. Then the 3rd one says you can’t put anything in there… and the little one says that you really can’t put anything in there. Since I liked his humor… I bought a toothpick stand (picture below)
I put this on my desk without any toothpick since I don’t really need a toothpick holder afterall.
There were lots of other cute creations~ I wanted to buy it all but I knew I don’t have enough space in my room for all this…
Risa did NOT leave the craft fair without eating something. たこ焼き (Takoyaki; Octopus balls) It wasn’t that good.
